Behind on your books?
Plenty of people arrive with a year in a carrier bag, or a Xero file nobody has reconciled since the spring. That is normal and it is fixable — but it sits outside the monthly fee, because nobody can know how long a rescue takes until they have looked at the records.
So we look first, then quote. You get a written estimate of the hours before any catch-up work starts, and if the job turns out to be bigger than it looked, we come back and ask rather than quietly running up the bill.
Quoted in writing before we start. Estimates are not exceeded without your say-so.
All prices exclude VAT. Software included on Sole Trader and MTD Ready; Business clients hold their own subscription.
Meet Natalie
I'm Natalie, the founder of Talia Books. I hold a practice licence with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, and I work with small businesses, sole traders and landlords. I'm based in Ashby-de-la-Zouch and serve plenty of clients across Leicestershire — Coalville, Swadlincote, Loughborough — and because the work is cloud-based, I take clients anywhere in the UK.
I believe good bookkeeping shouldn't be complicated or stressful. My approach is straightforward: keep your books tidy, your VAT returns on time, and your business MTD-ready — so you can focus on what you do best.

We're new here, and we're saying so.
Talia Books opened in 2026. Rather than invent testimonials we haven't earned, we're offering the first five clients a founding rate.
25% off for six months
Written into your engagement letter, reverting automatically. No small print, no rolling discount that quietly disappears.
A named, licensed bookkeeper
Not a call centre. Natalie holds an ICB practice licence, is supervised under the Money Laundering Regulations, and answers her own phone.
One honest ask in return
If we do good work, an honest review. That's the whole trade — and it's why the discount exists.
Frequently asked questions
I've heard about Making Tax Digital — does it apply to me?
If you're self-employed or a landlord with qualifying income over £50,000, it already applies as of April 2026. Over £30,000, it applies from April 2027. If you're not sure which side of the line you're on, ask us — the free consultation will settle it in ten minutes.
What software do you use?
Xero. It's MTD-compliant, it's what we work in every day, and standardising on one platform is how we keep your records accurate and our fees fixed. Already on Xero? We'll connect to your existing account. If you're not, we'll handle the migration.
Is software included in the price?
Yes, on our Sole Trader and MTD Ready packages. VAT-registered clients on the Business package hold their own subscription directly with the software provider, which keeps you in control of your own data and usually works out cheaper.
How does the free consultation work?
It's a relaxed 30-minute call where we discuss your business, your current bookkeeping setup, and what you need. No hard sell, just honest advice.
Can you work with my existing accountant?
Absolutely. We prepare your year-end accounts and work directly with your accountant to make their job easier — which usually saves you money on their fees. We don't file tax returns or statutory accounts ourselves, so we're never competing with them.
Are you qualified and regulated?
Yes. Natalie holds a practice licence with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, which brings supervision under the Money Laundering Regulations. We carry professional indemnity insurance and are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office.
Do I have to commit to a long contract?
No. Our services are billed monthly with a simple 30-day notice period. We keep clients because they're happy, not because they're locked in.
